Message designed into the Z, IMHO. In a word, UGLY. You want smoothness there, not eye-snagging bumps, blips, shadows or spaces. Less is more, meaning if you want it to look better, shave the nose panel, i.e. remove the Hamburger logo, fill, sand, smooth and paint, a.k.a. '90 style.

The nose panel on a Z is not supposed to draw your attention, but be part of an uninterrupted line that starts at the front fascia and flows all the way across the hood, toward the windshield (sagittal section).

The only nose panels I've seen that look halfway integrated into the design of the car is the Abflug or Bomex, with a HORIZONTAL induction slit or groove. Everything else is a step backwards, from a purely design and aesthetic standpoint. I still prefer stock even over these.

Paint the grey inset between the foglights to match the rest of the car. This monochrome look is all business. Mine sits in the body shop as described above, and I am very happy with the results. Will post photos in a couple days.
